Pharmacy Technician II

All Saints' places our patients first and strives to ensure every experience with All Saints Healthcare is a positive one.(Under the supervision and direction of a Registered Pharmacist) Pharmacy Technicians do not perform duties that can only be legally performed by a Registered Pharmacist. Under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist the technician assists in various activities of the Department of Pharmacy. Duties of the Pharmacy Technician II include, but are not limited to: maintaining patient records; packaging and labeling medication unit doses; filling and dispensing routine orders for stock supplies; mixing drugs with parenteral fluids; procuring and controlling pharmaceuticals and departmental supplies; initiating charges for items used from departmental stock; receiving guests and business associates; typing and clerical activities; and assisting with other departmental activities. The most significant differences between this position and that of the Pharmacy Technician I are the preparation of sterile products, independent work and expectations and preparation of cancer chemotherapy agents.
REQUIREMENTS
High school diploma or equivalent; successful completion of some college level courses is desired but not required; Certification as a Pharmacy Tech is desired; Previous experience as a hospital pharmacy tech (one year if obtained outside All Saints Healthcare System or six months if obtained as part of employment with All Saints Department of Pharmacy)or completion of accredited pharmacy technician training program is required.
