Clinical Educator-Support Services-Operations Support

Sutter Medical Foundation is a not-for-profit organization supporting the quality medical services provided by Sutter Independent Physicians, Sutter Medical Group and Sutter West Medical Group. Serving the counties of Sacramento, Placer, Nevada, Amador and Yolo, Sutter Medical Foundation physicians are dedicated to providing exceptional services, listening to patients' needs, and ensuring that patients play an important role in their healthcare.

The Clinical Educator performs competency-based assessments of clinical skills for all Back Office Staff, as well as providing ongoing training and inservices.
REQUIREMENTS


Education: RN or LVN currently licensed in the State of California. ADN or BSN degree in nursing is preferred, or related field with applicable work experience. Combination of equivalent of education and work experience may be substituted for degree.

Experience: Must have 2-3 years proven experience in a classroom and/or training setting. Must have a minimum of 3-5 years of practical experience in the medical office setting.

Knowledge:

Incumbent must possess the knowledge of group dynamics; adult learning theory; work force diversity; conflict management; medical office clinical equipment and tests (such as sphygmomanometers, Pulse Oximetry, EKG's, audiograms, visual acuity), medical insurance terminology; medical terminology; medical legal issues for Medical Assistants, LVN's, RN's, and Orthopedic Technicians; physician office practices; Sutter Difference standards and philosophy; HIPAA regulations and guidelines; federal laws affecting physician practices (i.e. ABN Forms, VIS Sheets); IDX and EpiCare preferred.

Special Skills/Equipment:

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to create a learning environment in a multitude of settings. Knowledge of Scope of Practice for Medical Assistants, LVN's, RN's, and Orthopedic Technicians. Extremely flexible to the needs of the care centers. Must be self-directed and have the ability to prioritize tasks. Experience with curriculum development. Willingness to do occasional early morning, evening, and Saturday classes when needed. Ability to work independently as well as with a team. Current and valid California driver's license.
