The Orthopedic Center of Excellence is our newest inpatient program that was developed to provide treatment of fractures, joint replacements and other related orthopedic injuries in a skilled nursing setting. Clinical pathways and specialized equipment typically found in acute rehab programs were developed to ensure the highest quality of care. We monitor our outcomes/success through our ROM system that quantitatively measures the impact we have on our patients. Our commitment to providing passionate care results in faster recoveries and increased post treatment functionality and productivity.
The COTA will perform some if not all of the following duties:
Observe and record patients' progress, attitudes, and behavior, and maintain this information in client records. Maintain and promote a positive attitude toward clients and their treatment programs. Monitor patients' performance in therapy activities, providing encouragement.Select therapy activities to fit patients' needs and capabilities. Instruct, or assist in instructing, patients and families in home programs, basic living skills, and the care and use of adaptive equipment. Evaluate the daily living skills and capacities of physically, developmentally or emotionally disabled clients.Aid patients in dressing and grooming themselves.Implement, or assist occupational therapists with implementing, treatment plans designed to help clients function independently. Report to supervisors, verbally or in writing, on patients' progress, attitudes and behavior. Alter treatment programs to obtain better results if treatment is not having the intended effect.

REQUIREMENTS
Occupational Therapy Assistant
Carries out effective patient treatment plans to restore, compensate or adapt for loss of patient function, which are established by the licensed/registered therapist. Plans conform to federal, state and professional standards.
Qualifications:
•Graduate from an accredited program for Occupational Therapy Assistants or must possess and maintain a current license in the state of practice as required.
•Must possess problem-solving skills of the type and at a level necessary to accomplish the job.
•Must be able to communicate in English, both verbally and in writing.
•Must be capable of maintaining regular attendance.
•Must meet all local health regulations, pass post-offer drug test, and post-offer employment physical exam if required.
•Must be capable of performing essential job functions of this job, with or without reasonable accommodations.
