Supermarket Refrigeration Engineer

We are seeking an individual with strong technical skills in supermarket systems and energy efficiency to join our team in the position of Supermarket Refrigeration Engineer.


Your Role
You will act in a technical consulting capacity as part of an engineering team to help supermarket clients increase the energy efficiency of their current and future store designs. Your activities will include:
•Help develop prototype refrigeration systems using new components, refrigerants, and design concepts to improve efficiency, performance and reliability
•Perform store surveys, review operation of existing systems and new facilities, and review of electronically gathered performance data
•Assist in design and management of lab and field tests and demonstrations
•Present studies and reports
REQUIREMENTS
Required Capabilities
•BSME degree; advanced degree or PE a plus
•Strong fundamental understanding of engineering thermodynamics, including refrigeration cycle, psychometrics and energy relationships
•Strong computer skills and excellent writing and communication skills
•Design and hands-on expertise with rack systems and display fixtures
•Flexible and able to work in an informal company environment with limited hierarchy
•Interest in and knowledge concerning energy efficiency


Beneficial Qualifications
•Experience with control system strategies
•Experience with R&D activities and testing equipment in a lab or in the field
•Experience with field start-up and troubleshooting
•Experience developing and delivering training for technical personnel
•Experience with automated data collection and monitoring systems
