Seafood Team Member
Maintains a positive company image by providing courteous, friendly, and efficient customer service. Supports the Seafood Team Leader and Regional Coordinator in maintaining regional standards. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, receiving and preparing product and maintaining the Seafood area and selling the product. Duties and Responsibilities: 1. Receives, unloads, and puts away product delivery. Cuts and prepares Seafood products for the floor displays and Seafood cases. 2. Ensures a fresh and appealing case by checking codes, rotating products, and removing damaged or out-of-date products. 3. Maintains correct department signage and pricing. 4. Weighs, prices, and packages customer selections. 5. Answers customer questions, and practices suggestive selling. 6. Assists with sampling program, keeping sample areas full, clean, and appealing. 7. Follows and complies with all applicable health and sanitation procedures and adheres to safe work practices. 8. Operates and sanitizes all Seafood equipment in a safe and proper manner. 9. Answers department telephone calls and pages quickly and with excellent phone etiquette. 10. Performs other duties as assigned by the Seafood Team Leader, Associate Team Leader, or Supervisor. Performance Standards: 1. Provide exceptional customer service that continuously improves and grows. 2. Effectively utilizes shrink control procedures. 3. Provide ideas and suggestions that contribute to the growth of the team. 4. Carry out duties in a timely manner.
REQUIREMENTS
Intellectual Requirements: 1. Ability to follow instructions and established procedures. 2. Knowledgeably communicate the product line to the customer. 3. Ability to understand customers’ needs. 4. Ability to perform simple math operations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division). 5. Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively with other Team Members and leadership. 6. Ability to understand and complete departmental transfers. Physical Requirements: 1. Must be 18 years or older and work up to a maximum of 8-10 hours per day. 2. Stand and walk for extended periods of time up to 4 hours without a break. 3. Bend and stoop to grasp objects and climb ladders. 4. Bend and lift loads, not to exceed 75 pounds, unassisted. 5. Push and pull carts, weighing up to 100 pounds, unassisted. Physical Requirements (continued): 6. Ability to visually examine products for quality and freshness and to check signage and labeling for accurate pricing. 7. Demonstrated proficiency in the proper use of a dumpster, baler, knives, and all related equipment. Work Environment 1. Environmental exposure: temperature extremes (coolers, freezer, outdoors) 2. Work in a moderately noisy environment. 3. Work on a variety of floor surfaces including tile and concrete. Other Requirements: 1. Able to work a variety of shifts including weekends, evenings, and holidays. 2. Willingness to receive constructive feedback pertaining to job performance. 3. Willingness to provide exemplary customer service constantly and consistently. 4. Good communication skills. 5. A desire to learn about natural and organic foods and products.
