Regional Sales Manager - East Coast
Fast-growing, suagr-free and healthy foods manufacturer is seeking a high-energy sales professional to manage retail store-level, HQ and distributor relationships in the grocery class of trade on the East Coast from Maine to Florida.Reporting directly to the VP Sales & Marketing, this Regional Sales Manager position, based in the Philadelphia area but involving travel, will play a key role in managing our current business and expanding our presence into new geographical markets and to key retail/wholesale food customers.
Sales Duties Include:•Planning, organizing, and implementing sales programs for the region.
•Achieving sales objectives in the region.
•Coordinating and conducting sales calls as necessary with current key and future clients.
•Training, developing, and mentoring inside and/or outside independent sales representatives (brokers) and distributor sales representatives for the region.•Working daily with broker network to execute overall sales and marketing plans.
•Maintaining strong relationships with major distributor and retail clients.•Researching and solving all deduction issues.•Assuring that all advertising and promotions are put in place and executed at distributor and retail levels as agreed.
•Attending and organizing participation in relevant distributor/retailer trade shows.
•Assisting in ongoing development/execution of marketing and sales plans.•Providing marketing/sales support for new product/services ideas.
•Assessing industry trends and client needs.Analysis Duties Include:
•Ongoing pricing audits to assure all retailers are reflecting correct pricing to consumers.
•Conducting ongoing inventory audits at the distributor level.
•Working with brokers/distributors/retailers to get monthly distribution reports.
•Conducting ongoing store level inventory audits using reports available and time to time in-store audits to assure full distribution, proper product rotation, merchandising, etc.
•Performing continual retail level profit/spend evaluation to assure each account is within budgetary guidelines.
•Performing a quarterly analysis of Company products, sales, competition and trends.•Assisting in assessing the impact of the Company's advertising and marketing activities.•Performing an analysis of market/sales/income potential of new product ideas.•Ensuring all relevant broker reps and distributor/retailer personnel are informed on trends and relevance for Company products and services.
REQUIREMENTS
Only candididates with 5+ years sales experience calling on HQ retail grocery and DSD/specialty food distributors will be considered.
We need an individual who has experience in managing a broker network, working with distributors, and has the majority of sales experience in the specialty grocery channel.
•Sales experience in the c-store, club, dollar, drug, military channels helpful.• Having industry contacts is important as we will be looking at how prior experience and contacts can help our company grow to the next level.•Must have the ability to develop and maintain strong working relationships.•Develops sales strategies, techniques and tactics based on customer feedback and the market environment.•Skilled negotiator with the ability to develop “win/win” solutions while accomplishing goals and protecting interests.•Understands the business environment and anticipates trends that will help develop strategies or capitalize on opportunities and ensure long-term growth.•Proficient in Microsoft Powerpoint, Word and Excel.•Prefer 4-year degree
