Prepared Foods Specialist

Summary: Performs all duties related to purchasing for the needs of food preparation. Responsible for profitability and quality. Maintains a positive company image by providing courteous, friendly and efficient Customer Service. Supports Team Leader and Regional Coordinator maintaining regional standards. 1. Provide excellent customer service. 2. Complete understanding of margins, turns, and inventory. 3. Perform inventory and maintain inventory sheets on a monthly basis. 4. Ensure product quality for all items in the department. 5. Effectively order for the department needs. 6. Control spoilage in the department by ensuring proper storage of items and product rotation. 7. Record all spoilage and transfer sheets. 8. Properly process all invoices on a daily basis. 9. Maintain appropriate relationship with vendors. 10. Receive monthly menus and adjust buying accordingly to new dishes. 11. Communicate with Kitchen Manager / Chef and Team Leader concerning all order needs and problems concerning ordering. 12. Work with Team Leader in costing out each recipe. 13. Meet all margin targets for the department. 14. Assist with counter service and cook as scheduled or as necessary. 15. Receive and check for accuracy and quality on all in coming products. 16. Perform other tasks as assigned in a timely manner.
REQUIREMENTS
1. Capable of performing all duties and responsibilities of Prepared Foods Clerk 2. Organized with proficient math skills. Excel proficiency a plus. 3. Complete understanding of Whole Foods Market margin program and profitability. 4. Create and negotiate price bids. 5. Basic computer skills.
