Plant Safety Manager

Function: SafetyPay Type: ExemptPosition Number: 10118360 Plant Safety MgrEmployee Type: Full Time Shift 2Job Description: This position is responsible to manage all areas of safety including workers compensation, inspection, accident / incident prevention, job analysis, reducing workplace accidents, and maintaining a quality safety program; manage ergonomic program; knowledge of the PSM and environmental program; communicate with HSD regarding workplace goals; have daily plant visibility; work with management and OHN to meet all expected safety goals and objectives; manage safety communication meetings routinely using acceptable criteria; work well with all team members to reduce workplace accident / injuries; training as required including safety orientation; assist department supervisors regarding safety, reporting, and monitoring of all safety functions; coordinate safety-related committees and teams; coordinate safety awards and recognition programs for the plant; maintain all compliance requirements with USDA, OSHA and regulatory agencies; conduct and track the necessary audits; and perform other tasks as deemed appropriate by management.
REQUIREMENTS
Education: Appropriate degree and related experience preferred.Experience: Prior safety management experience; strong knowledge of safety, health laws, regulations, ergonomics and environmental.Computer Skills: Computer literate.Communication Skills: Strong oral and written communication skills.Other Requirements: Display sound judgment, decision-making, leadership and organizational skills.Travel: Minimal
