Meat/Seafood Team Member
Department: MeatJob Summary:
Maintains a positive company image by providing courteous, friendly, and efficient customer service. Supports the Meat Team Leader and Regional Coordinator in maintaining regional standards. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, receiving and preparing product and maintaining the Meat area and selling the product.
REQUIREMENTS
Duties and Responsibilities:
Receives, unloads, and puts away product delivery. Cuts and prepares Meat and Seafood products for the floor displays and Meat cases.
Checks codes, rotates products, and removes old or out-of-date products.
Maintains correct department signage and pricing.
Weighs, prices, and packages customer selections.
Answers customer questions, and practices suggestive selling.
Assists with sampling program, keeping sample areas full, clean, and appealing.
Follows and complies with all applicable health, sanitation and safe work practices.
Operates and sanitizes all Meat and Seafood equipment in a safe and proper manner.
Answers department calls and pages quickly and with excellent phone etiquette.
Performs other duties as assigned by superiors.Requirements:
Ability to follow instructions and established procedures.
Ability to understand customers' needs and knowledgeably communicate the product line to the customer.
Ability to perform simple math operations.
Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively with others.
Ability to understand and complete departmental transfers.
Must be 18 years or older and able to work a maximum of 8-10 hours per day.
Ability to stand and walk for up to 4 hours without a break.
Ability to bend and stoop to grasp objects, climb ladders, lift loads, up to 50 lbs. unassisted, push and pull carts weighing up to 100 lbs. unassisted.
Ability to visually examine products for quality and signage/labeling for accuracy.
Demonstrated proficiency in the proper use of a dumpster, baler, knives, and all related equipment.
Able to work a variety of shifts including weekends, evenings, and holidays.
Willingness to provide exemplary customer service constantly and consistently.
A desire to learn about natural and organic foods and products.
