Front End Manager

Essential duties and responsibilities include the following in addition to all basic CASHIER / CSC functions:

Maintains a professional work environment by:
o Enforcing all policies as related to uniforms, telephone protocol, cleanliness, safety, security and sanitation
oTaking full advantage of all appropriate professional development opportunities

•Responds to the needs of customers by:
o Resolving customer questions, complaints, disputes and/or problems
oApproving and/or processing returns and voids
oProviding accurate product information as well as cross-selling/upselling
oPlacing and completing special order requests for product
oResponding to telephone orders and requests
oHaving appropriate staffing levels at all times

•Ensures that human resource objectives are met by:
oHiring, training, disciplining and terminating employees
oAppropriately assigning tasks to staff
oSupporting staff during busy periods
oProviding counseling and development tools to staff
oCompleting all necessary paperwork related to any and all staffing issues (hiring, disciplining, performance reviews, terminating etc.)
oRecommending promotions, salary increases, performance awards and bonuses
oResolving payroll issues (time clock mispunches etc.)

•Ensures adequate communication by:
oConducting regularly scheduled department meetings to communicate sales goals, strategies, opportunities, promotions and results
oChecking email on a daily basis
oPosting relevant marketing and merchandising information in department log book
oCommunicating relevant information including all unresolved issues and opportunities to appropriate senior management, including Director of Front End Operations
oFollowing MIS help desk protocol including opening all appropriate tickets and following through until ticket is closed
oFollowing procedures to increase scan accuracy


•Ensures that Balducci’s/SPG financial objectives are being met by:
oMaintaining all cash handling best practices as set forth in the Front End Manual
oDeveloping appropriate labor schedules and reviewing payroll reports against budget
oAssisting with price verificationJob Requirements

•The ability and willingness to develop and coach others
•The ability and willingness to engage in appropriate conflict resolution
•The ability and willingness to execute and enforce policies and procedures
•The ability to adjust one’s leadership and communication style to fit the needs of a given situation

Material resource management skills including:
•Attention to detail
•Cash management skills
•Ability to cross-sell and upsell
•Basic computer literacy
