From vendor selection to proper storage to product sampling, we pay close attention to every detail. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Food Technologist who shares our passion for excellence.This individual evaluates, through sensory and laboratory analysis, the quality of Albertsons brand products for acceptability against standards established by Albertsons.Responsibilities: Conducts audits of supplier facilities to determine their ability to meet Albertsons standards
Assists the team in managing third-party facility audit and corrective action process
Prepares and evaluates Albertsons Our Own Brands products for quality, condition, proper labeling, and overall adherence to product specifications.
Communicates test results and works between Business units, Our Own Brands staff, vendors, and Distribution Centers as necessary to correct identified quality deficiencies.
Coordinates Distribution Center sampling and vendor testing programs.
Provides direction to clerical staff, who assist in the receiving, storage, preparation of product samples, and who assist in writing of reports.
Assists Quality Assurance Manager and cross-functional teams in responding to some recalls, customer complaints, and inquiries.Education/Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Chemistry, Biology or related field, and (8 - 10) years experience in a combination of retail and production quality assurance environments and manufacturing facility auditing.
Comprehensive knowledge of government, and industry grading standards.
Excellent communication skills for communicating corrective actions with suppliers, and other outside parties, and ability to represent Albertsons in a professional manner.
Proficient in computer applications such as Excel and Word. Knowledge of Access and Powerpoint is desirable.Work for an industry leader.
