Food Service Manager

This is largely possible because of the individuals we seek to hire.Food Service Managers hire, train, schedule and supervise all Assistant Managers and/or department crew members within the Service Deli, Sandwich/Salad Bar & Orient Express departments. They ensure that all crew members adhere to company and departmental policy/procedure, as well as, meet any state/federal law and labor union compliance(s). They track department sales and manage the department budget, as well as, select and order department products, build displays and manage inventories. They provide friendly guest service and ensure that all crew members provide excellent service to all guests.
REQUIREMENTS
1 year food service department and/or restaurant operations experience or equivalent education to be knowledgeable & familiar with the nature & duties of every position within the department. Must possess the ability to perform & teach all fundamentals of department production & sales, merchandising & guest service.
Math skills necessary, but not limited to: calculating discounts, gross margins, markup and percentages, completing reports, budgeting labor & sales, meeting labor requirements within scheduling, following recipes, handling sales transactions & troubleshooting cash tills discrepancies.
Ability to work effectively around: machine induced background noise, ice & wet areas, mixers, fryers, hot grills, slicers, ovens, knives & other hand tools & in freezer & refrigerated areas.
Abides by & ensures that all crew members are trained regarding company policy on the use of department equipment, protective devices, maintenance, sanitation standards, proper lifting & other related safe work practices. Reports all accidents to supervisor.
Ability to work with ingredients, spices, finely powdered substances, produce, plants, flowers, meat, chicken, seafood and chemicals without negative allergic reactions.
Ability to communicate verbally with guests & crew members in English & be able to demonstrate proper phone etiquette to courteously answer telephone calls and use an intercom.
