Assistant Store Manager / Management

Assistant Store Manager Essential Job Functions:
1.Ensures that customers are welcome to the store, experience excellent store conditions, are able to find what they need, check out in a hassle free manner, and receive a greeting from every associate they come in contact with.
2.Champion and influence the behaviors critical to Sweetbay strategy.
3.Exceptional ability to develop active, enthusiastic followership by inspiring others and treating all associates with fairness, dignity and respect. Provide recognition of accomplishments and offer constructive counseling when necessary.
4.Assist in attaining financial objectives: sales, payroll percent gross margin, shrink, MPP net percent effectiveness, and control of other expenses.
5.Responsible for the overall operation of the entire store in the absence of the Store Manager. Make recommendations as to hiring, termination, promotion and demotion of associates. These recommendations are given particular weight and are regularly followed.
6.Be a cultural leader and work collaboratively across departments providing unsurpassed service to customers and associates.
7.Maintain techniques and layouts consistent with the corporate merchandising philosophy.
8.Complete understanding of the causes and means for resolving inventory shrink issues in the assigned departments.
9.Constantly interacts with associates; ensures all associates understand the Brand Position and have the tools and training to be successful.
10.Maintain solid communications with the management team, all associates in the store and throughout the organization.
11.Observe and ensure compliance with company security, safety, and food safety standards.
12.Must be able to meet the physical requirements of the position, with or without reasonable accommodations.
13.Frequently makes recommendations as to hiring, termination, promotion and demotion of associates in store. These recommendations are given particular weight and are regularly followed.
Assistant Store Manager Duties & Responsibilities:
1.Provides leadership and motivation, within the store, to promote a culture reflective of the company’s guiding principles, core values, and vision.
2.Understand the use of company tools such as: MPP, financial reports, scheduling, ordering and business information systems.
3.Provide leadership to select and develop associates. Supports an environment for continual learning and encourages an open dialogue among associates.
4.Have a total understanding of the Best Practice for assigned departments.
5.Ensure effective work schedules to meet production and customer service standards as well as associates’ needs.
6.Understand the potential causes and means for resolving and limiting inventory shrink issues in the store.
7.Provide the training and development of assigned associates, and support the developmental needs of store associates.
8.Ensure all company policies and procedures are follow as outlined.
9.Treat all store information as strictly confidential.
10.Ensure that proper control of all store funds and company assets are maintained.
11.Perform all other duties and projects as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications:
An enthusiastic coordinator of food experts that serve as the critical link between our brand, our products, and a vibrant, delicious shopping experience for our customers. Serves as a model for extraordinary customer service and instills this value in associates.
College degree or Retail Management work experience preferred. Strong understanding of store operations and total store merchandising techniques. Demonstrated ability and willingness to learn multiple tasks and technical requirements of the job. Ability to use technical information to solve problems. Ability and availability to work a schedule that meets business needs.
Physical Requirements:
1.Ability to use computers and other technical systems required to perform job functions.
2.Lift up to 20 lbs. regularly, including overhead lifting, and up to 40 lb. occasionally. Push/pull up to 40 lb. regularly.
3.Meet established volume and fixed activity standards.
4.Stand or walk 100% of the time.
5.Frequent reaching, grasping and lifting individual stock items below waist level or above shoulder level.
6.Ability to handle a variety of substances associated with cleaning materials, packing materials and food products.
