USDA Watch Officer
(July 31, 2006)Supports the daily activities of the US Department of Agriculture emergency operations center in Washington, DC. Specific tasks include: monitor news, National Warning System, and other reporting systems for events requiring Departmental action and/or reporting to higher authority; prepare journals, briefings, and situation updates; coordinate with homeland security oriented agencies and offices; assist with writing contingency plans and operating procedures; support the conduct of emergency preparedness training.Qualifications: Baccalaureate degree with good research, verbal and written communications skills. Current Top Secret clearance or have held a Top Secret clearance within the past two years. Proficient in the use of computers and commonly used software packages (e.g., MS Office Suite). Ability to work and maintain a professional demeanor in emergency situations.
