Sr ATC Analyst

L-3 Communications Titan Group is looking for strong technical candidates to join a small group of researchers and system developers in the creation of advanced air traffic management concepts and systems. Working in small teams, successful candidates will lead or support projects that span the entire range of the research lifecycle, including concept design and development, benefits analysis, field observation, requirements analysis, algorithm development, prototype system and procedure design and development, human-in-the-loop and batch simulation and experimentation, and field testing/evaluation. Many research projects include the development of advanced decision support tool (DST) prototypes for use by pilots, air traffic controllers and managers, and airline operations personnel. Often working directly with the user community, our team “bridges the gap” between technical and operational requirements.Senior staff will take both leadership as well as support roles, whereas mid-level and junior staff will take support roles, ultimately leading to leadership roles in future efforts. At all levels, individuals are given significant personal responsibility commensurate with their experience level and are expected to act proactively to achieve the overall team/project objectives.Requirements:
An aeronautical engineering background is strongly preferred, but any technical (engineering, physics, math, etc.) degree with relevant air transportation research and development experience is acceptable. Experience in air traffic control/management research or systems engineering, such as advanced ATC concept development, benefits and systems analyses, procedure development, field work, and/or automation design and development is required. Software development experience is not required, but preferred. Experience with operations research techniques is strongly preferred. Previous experience working with air traffic controllers, traffic managers, airline personnel, and /or pilots is strongly preferred. Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to clearly write technical documents and present research results at public conferences.A MS or PhD degree is strongly preferred, but BS candidates with significant experience will be considered.
