The NYC Department of Citywide Administrative Services’ Division of Real Estate Services (DRES) seeks a Senior Portfolio Manager to oversee and manage all the lease negotiation projects for a portfolio of City agencies and function as the prime negotiator for critical leases, managing important individual projects from their inception until lease execution, oversee the negotiations and project management of several lease negotiators, oversee the performance of a tenant representative and manage the requirements of the tenant representative’s contract. The manager will act as the primary contact for a group of City agencies regarding their leasing issues. The negotiations will include lease renewals, new site acquisitions, renegotiations of existing leases to address the downsizing of the occupying agency and relocation if renegotiations are impractical or ineffective. The Senior Portfolio Manager must have a good knowledge of the commercial real estate market in New York with a proven record of accomplishment of closing major real estate transactions and previous experience supervising the negotiations of several negotiators. This position requires interfacing with a tenant representative on individual projects. The candidates must demonstrate very good project management skills, the ability to supervise others and the ability to interface with the commercial real estate brokerage community. Only candidates with previous management experience will be considered.


Candidates must have a Baccalaureate or advanced degree in real state studies, economics, business or a related field; must demonstrate very good written and oral presentation skills, project management skills and the ability to prepare and/or interpret detailed financial analyses; have knowledge of the commercial real estate markets in New York City; and have experience negotiating real estate transactions. New York City residency required.
