Streamlight is seeking a Sales Manager for the Government and Military Markets to assist in furthering this success.Summary: Responsible for increasing Streamlight sales and market share within the Federal, Government Law Enforcement and Military market sectors.Reports to: Director of Government and Military SalesResponsibilities:
•Make contact and generate revenue on a direct basis from all branches of the U.S. Military establishment.
•Work with established users and prospect for new users.
* Uncover and develop Streamlight's product specification opportunities and quantify opportunity and draft plan for our participation.
•Focus on increasing our presence within the U.S. Military Resale System and the Military Exchange Systems.
•Work with assigned manufacturer’s representatives in the field by calling on both distribution and end-users. Focus to be placed on the following activities; training, product demonstrations, new product development, bid development and closing.
•Increase network of influencers and contacts via networking, conferences and tradeshows.•Propose and administer pricing and promotional efforts within distribution and market segments.
•Responsible for top level contact within manufacturer representative agencies, distribution and user segments.
•Recommend changes in distribution and rep agency network, policies and programs.
•Assist and direct as required: inside-sales in handling inquires, order entry, new account set-up and follow up on matters pertaining to delivery, pricing and terms.
•Uncover and develop Streamlight’s product specification opportunities and quantify opportunity and draft plan for our participation.
•Formulate annual tactical sales plan for markets served.
•Submit annual product forecasts and update as required.
•Develop individual manufacturer representative agency, major distributor and key and target user account plans annually.
•Research markets, product potentials, competition and industry trends.Accountabilities:
•Meet or exceed established sales quotas.
•Timely completion of Annual tactical plans and implementation of tactics.
•Expense management – timely submission of travel expense reports, maintain budgets for individual travel and assigned sales and marketing expenses related to increasing revenue.
REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications:
•Minimum 5 years related outside sales experience preferred.
•Military experience required.
•Prior Distributor and Independent Representation experience preferred.
•Existing Military/Federal contact network preferred.
•Proven leadership and business acumen skills.
•Good judgment with the ability to make timely and sound decisions.
•Creative, flexible, and innovative team player.
•Commitment to excellence and high standards.
•Ability to lead a team.
•Excellent problem resolution and consultative sales skills.
•Demonstrated ability to make successful presentations to individuals and/ or groups at all levels of an organization.
•Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
•Proven ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines.
•Versatility, flexibility, and willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm.Physical/ Mental Requirements:
•Analyze Statistical and financial Data.
•Ability to work in a fast-paced high growth environment.Work Environment:
•Significant Domestic travel in excess of 40%.
•Trips will include some weekends and could extend for weeks at a time.
•Work out of a home based office. East coast location preferred.
