Safety and Security Specialist

Safety Manager

A very large distribution center in the Greater Boston area is seeking a fully qualified safety specialist. This is a fast-paced industry and the successful candidate must be a strong leader, with a proven track record. You will be responsible for Security and Safety in two distribution centers located in Eastern MA, which includes the development of effective safety processes and procedures to ensure safe working conditions exist, and that safety standards are met or exceeded.
We are a successful multi-billion dollar company with over 85 distribution centers nationwide.
REQUIREMENTS
Commitment to improving, implementing and maintaining safety, security and environmental policies to protect employees and comply with corporate, state, federal and local regulations.
Comprehensive knowledge of OSHA, DOT, USDA regulations.
Ability to train all employees on safe work practices, Safe driving techniques, MHE, PPE, and food safety
Successful job seeker must have the ability to lead employees, through motivating and coaching resulting in improved safety numbers in OSHA recordable and vehicle accidents.
Must be willing and confident in their ability to make decisions in an independent mode.
Ability to develop effective relationships, provide leadership, and lead individuals toward company objectives
Experience in conducting in depth accident investigations. Ability to quickly identify issues, determine corrective measures, and implement corrective action.
Analyze trends, develop recommendations for the elimination of safety hazards, and enhance safety awareness
Highly Effective communication skills
Chair monthly safety meeting
Proficient with MS Office programs (Word, Excel, )
Capable of working flexible work shifts/assignments as needed.
2 years experience required, BS or BA, with safety certification a plus and/or related experience.
