SUPERINTENDENT

COMMUNITY AND CULTURAL SERVICES SUPERINTENDENT

This position has division level responsibility for the overall direction and administration of the City’s community and cultural services programs and facilities. The incumbent is responsible for planning, formulating policy, developing goals and objectives, supervising staff, administering the division’s budget, and directing day-to-day operations. Assignments allow for a high degree of administrative discretion and judgment in their execution. This class is distinguished from the Parks and Recreation Director in that the latter has overall management and administrative responsibility for City parks, recreation, community and cultural services functions and programs.

REQUIREMENTS
COMMUNITY AND CULTURAL SERVICES SUPERINTENDENT
Possession of a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in community and cultural services, physical education, or a related field and three to five years of supervisory experience which has included community and cultural services program planning and administration. Additional qualifying experience as outlined above may be substituted for the educational requirement on a year-for-year basis to a maximum of two years.
