POSITION:Resource Enhancement Assistant
Grade 66SALARY RANGE:$27,964 - $43,100LOCATION:Administrative Offices
Resource Enhancement Department
NATURE OF WORK:Under the direction of the Coordinator, provides support for ongoing development activities such as: the annual fund, special events, direct mail, donor recognition, grant writing, planned giving, corporate and foundation relations, public relations, publication design, and board & volunteer development. Manages and reports from the donor database Sage. Organizes and writes Foundation newsletter and other fundraising materials. Updates Foundation Webpage. Performs other related duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS
Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Thorough knowledge of spelling, grammar, and document preparation, preferably in grants. Strong initiative, creativity and flexibility and the ability to work well under pressure. Pleasant, outgoing manner. Previous experience in fundraising or working with volunteers helpful. Ability to work effectively with people both by phone and in person. Genuine interest in providing good customer service. Strong organizational skills and decision making ability. Ability to handle multiple projects. Ability to work with figures. Ability to handle confidential information. Ability to prioritize work and exercise independent judgement. Ability to manage projects. Sense of humor. Willingness to work extra hours to help with special projects. Regular job attendance and punctuality. Ability to use a telephone and computer keyboard.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college, or CFRE certification, or an AA degree plus 2 years of applicable work experience. Previous experience in the area of fundraising is required. Proficiency in Microsoft Word with a high level of comfort in Windows 2000 environment required.CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:May be required to work some evenings and weekends. Must be able to travel throughout the library system and to outside meetings. This position is subject to systemwide transfer.
