The Planning and Zoning division at the Development Services Department is seeking a highly motivated and competent individual to coordinate the rezoning processes and supervise the Planning staff. Below are some examples of duties:

Works closely with other Development Services sections, and the public to administer zoning change requests and prepare land use recommendations that are consistent with adopted Mayor and Council policy.

Supervises and coordinates all assigned work in the unit, ensuring timely completion.

Resolves conflict that may arise with personnel as well as issues that may arise with the external customer.

WHAT HAPPENS NEXT:

REQUIREMENTS
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree in Urban Planning, Architecture, Landscape Architecture, Civil Engineering, Public Administration, Geography, Transportation Planning, Environmental Studies or related field or an equivalent combination of experience, education, and training related to the essential duties. Also must have three years of supervisory experience managing land use planning projects and personnel. The ability to use Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Access at an intermediate level is required along with a valid driver's license and the ability to communicate orally and written to a diverse audience. Special necessary requirement: Knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations regarding zoning and rezoning projects.
