Police Officer I

1. Patrol a designated area of the airport to preserve law and order.2. Discover and prevent the commission of crimes, enforce traffic and other laws and ordinances.
3. Respond to accident scenes and emergencies; administer first aid as necessary.
4. Conduct security checks of all passenger screening points.
5. Issue warnings and citations.
6. Deal with angry, intoxicated, or violent persons; make arrests as necessary
7. Prepare reports on arrests made, activities performed and unusual incidents observed.
8. Maintain contact with citizens regarding potential law enforcement problems, preserve good relationships with the general public and airport tenants.
9. Monitor airport terminal activity on closed circuit television cameras.
10. Contact and cooperate with other law enforcement agencies in matters relating to law enforcement security activity.
11. Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
12. Use and proper care for firearms.
REQUIREMENTS
1. Possession of, or ability to obtain, certification of law enforcement issued by the Alabama Peace Officers Standards and Training Commission.2. Possession of, or ability to obtain, a valid Alabama Drivers license and be insurable.3. Ability to work a rotating shift.4. Previous security, police officer or military related experience.
