Patent Agent or Patent Attorney

Classification: Full Time Compensation: $80000 to $120000 per year Stable and respected Dublin / Pleasanton Biotech firm is seeking an experienced Patent Agent or Patent Attorney to join the team!Essential Duties and Responsibilities•Review and identify in-house inventions and processes that may form the basis for IP rights•Recommend, interpret, and develop goals and strategies to optimize the short- and long-term value of company's intellectual product portfolio
•Draft parts of patent and trademark applications for outside counsel
•Conduct and evaluate prior art searches•Review, draft and recommend responses to office actions
•Draft, review, and recommend filing in foreign countries
•Review, track and recommend for approval of scientific publications, product documents and press releases
•Monitor and review competitors' IP
•Draft and negotiates IP provisions in contracts, protecting the company's proprietary products and technology
•Maintain the patent and trademark databases from invention disclosures, to filing, to application status and due dates for IP rights for both owned and licensed matters
•Perform other IP duties as requested by the Sr. Director
EducationAdmitted to the patent bar and MS/Ph.D. in sciences are required; an advanced degree in synthetic organic chemistry high preferred; a JD is desirable.Experience5-7 years of experience in IP strategy development and implementation and IP prosecution in small organic molecule pharmaceuticals, formulations and/or bioinformatics. Must be self-motivated, able to work with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment, ability to deadlines and perform detail-oriented work under pressure. In addition, the candidate should possess problem-solving skills, confident decision-making abilities, team leadership, ability to work independently as well as in a team environment, and strong interpersonal skills and verbal and written communication skills.Qualified Patent Agents and/or Patent Attorneys, please RUSH your resumes to
