Major Accounts Manager Govt
Sales Results: Meet and exceed monthly sales quota objectives by acquiring and retaining corporate and employee liable accounts. Call on top levels of state and local government organizations to sell products and services to gain new business and further penetrate existing accounts. Generate new business in assigned territories through prospecting, cold-calling, networking and generating leads and referrals. Negotiate pricing and contracts.
Customer Retention: Provide existing customers with the highest standard of customer service. Coordinate with support center to fulfill, activate and service accounts. Promote Verizon Wireless as the market leader in the wireless industry. Resolves customer issues in a timely and empathetic manner. Maintain and grow existing customer base and manage churn.
Training / Meetings: Continuously update knowledge of wireless products, services, industry trends and the competitive dynamics of the marketplace. Participate in training opportunities on products and services and attend sales meetings. Represent company at trade association meetings to promote Verizon Wireless and increase presence in the community.
Reporting: Fully utilize all sales force automation, funnel management and prospecting tools. Manage sales funnel, generate reporting on sales activities and forecasting.
Leadership: Provide the strategic direction for the account team on the assigned accounts. Set goals, strategies and action steps for the achievement of the defined objectives for each account. Track and report on team performance and provide necessary feedback to team members and management on progress toward goals.
Job Requirements
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience required.
2-5 years of outside sales/account management experience required preferably with emphasis on government accounts.
Experience selling within the public sector strongly preferred
Proven superior professional selling, prospecting, funnel management and account management skills.
Demonstrated ability to effectively present, interact with and negotiate with all organizational levels.
Excellent interpersonal, analytical, written and oral communication skills.
The ability to work well in a dynamic, fast-changing environment that requires a high degree of multi-tasking with minimal supervision.
Superior technical and analytical skills.
Effective use of PC including Microsoft Office required.
Must have valid driver's license, good driving record and proof of insurance.
Effective negotiation and closing skills required.
