Legal Description Writer

The Winnebago County Supervisor of Assessment’s Office is searching for a self-motivated, team-orientated individual to fill a position as a Legal Description Writer.

This challenging position will assist directly with all County parcel maintenance and mapping functions. The ideal candidate will have college course work or technical training with Geographic Information Systems, experience writing or reading parcel legal descriptions, and researching land deeds and plats.

This person must be able to work independently and effectively with land surveyors, attorneys, and the general public. A working knowledge of land surveying is a plus.
