We would like to target the east coast specifically NY, NJ, MD, PA and Virginia. This person would work out of their home office in this area Salary: $50,000 to $55,000 per year plus a great incentive package.
PRIMARY FUNCTION:
Sell an assigned quota of company products to assigned territory of Federal Government end-users. Manage all aspects of the territory operations to ensure customer satisfaction. Committed to exceeding customer expectations by providing exceptional service. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Sell 100% of assigned quota each quarter and YTD.
Implement sales programs to increase direct sales to Federal Government end-users, including direct mail campaigns, in-the-field demonstrations, product trials, advertising, sales calls, solicitations and presentations. Develop working relationships with procurement officers in Federal agencies.
Coordinate all aspects of the Federal Government Procurement process. Search the internet for bid opportunities. Examine incoming bids for company product potential and qualification. Utilize internal technical resources to examine and review bid specs. Determine where company meets them and where we don’t. Pursue an “alternative product” strategy where we don’t meet specs. Track all bids, and log success/failure, who won the bid and main reasons why. CC your manager each month.
Coordinate all bids with the Government Sales Manager, respond with either a “no bid” statement, or by proposing company products in the manner and form specified in the bid, and within all prescribed time frames and formats.
Communicate to Engineering on a regular basis about product reliability, design or specification deficiencies.
Create and maintain a territory control system to manage account strategies. Log your contacts with each agency, with a follow-up section for fulfillment items. Review with the GSM each month. Use as a tool to manage your territory. Write a 5-15 report by 12:00 noon each Friday.
Complete a sales forecast, by account and submit to the GSM by the 25th of each month. Develop a probability rating for each bid. Advise the appropriate Division Manager if a large volume of unusual radio versions may be required.
Plan daily/weekly activities to ensure all sales activities are accomplished each month. Submit all travel requests as earlier as possible in advance for approval.
Attend the appropriate National, Regional and Local Trade shows such as GSA EXPO, National Guard, APCO, ASUA, AFCEA, etc. Write a report following each event.Respond to all end-user requests promptly. Manage all aspects of the territory to include credit, collections, order entry, service or any other item relating to this territory.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
5 years outside sales experience. Two-way radio experience preferred. Previous Federal Government Sales experience preferred. Multilevel selling skills required. Demonstrated ability to manage a sales territory for results.
Ability to contact customers, establish rapport and develop positive working relationships. Good interpersonal and oral communication skills.
Strong working knowledge of MS Word, Outlook, PowerPoint and Excel.
Position requires minimum 50% travel includes both U.S. and possible international travel.
Must be a self-starter, able to establish daily and weekly priorities. Must be organized to meet deadlines under pressure and handle multiple tasks. Able to work independently with little supervision.Exceptional attention to detail and tenacious follow through are necessary.
Must be resilient and maintain a positive attitude when faced with a heavy workload, set backs and problems.
Requires initiative, assertiveness and ability to make decisions.
Professional appearance and demeanor required.
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
High School education or equivalent.
