Government Programs Manager (Texas) - Medicaid Program
The Government Programs Manager is a highly visible position and is responsible for coordinating complex government Medicaid accounts ensuring policy, clinical, financial and quality business goals are achieved. The position oversees the delivery of disease and demand management services for State Medicaid populations.This person is responsible for developing strategic senior level relationships with governmental and non-governmental stakeholders, overseeing deliverables of services, managing customer service, assisting the Sales force with account renewals, and collaborating with other units on program development and evaluation of program success.This includes developing relationships with senior staff, elected officials and community stakeholders, assessing the client's marketplace, environment, and business goals, evaluating product requirements and organizational objectives by developing and leading strategic plans within assigned accounts.Key ResponsibilitiesAchieve corporate business goals for government accounts. This includes but is not limited to:
Development and advocacy of state legislative and regulatory public policy issues
Develop and lead comprehensive account management plans ensuring short and long term targets are achieved. This includes: tracking, measuring, and modifying business plans to achieve both client and corporate goals,
Develop and manage senior relationships with government officials, consultants, project management staff, and external stakeholders,
Lead internal and external team members to achieve common goals ensuring client?s business targets are met,
Generate outstanding client satisfaction, client advocates, consistent commitment, public support, positive references, co publications and professional presentations,
Assist various McKesson departments with client renewals, Research and ROI analysis,
Provide quarterly client updates to senior staff, developing action plans analyzing and evaluating measurements of success,
Provide consistent internal and external communications and follow-up on customer requirements,
Facilitate resolution of client issues relating to McKesson services.Assist annual sales goals for government business. This includes:
Assist Sales Force in expanding current products to new lives and selling new McKesson products into existing lines of business,
Leveraging existing government relationships to ensure sales in local markets across McKesson business units.Serve as coordinator/facilitator for all program deliverables ensuring clinical, financial, and operational performance metrics are achieved. This includes but is not limited to coordination of activities of:
Implementation,
Forecasting operational requirements,
Data processing,
Telephonic and community based nursing interventions,
Provider Outreach,
Relationships with academic universities and local professional advocacy groups,
Professional Advisory Boards,
Senior Management quarterly updates,
Research,
Finance,
Billing,
Reporting,
Regulatory agencies.Assist in the identification of program enhancements and development and implementation of program requirements coordinating cross functional teams from design through finish. This includes:
Serve as project manager between internal and external constituents; clients, development, product, research, quality and finance teams.Minimum Requirements
Minimum Job Qualifications
Education/Training
Graduate Degree Required: Prefer MPP, MPH, or MBA with health care services experience.
Business Experience
3-5 years of health care industry or consulting experience; government or account management appreciated
Passion about improving the health status of populations with chronic illnesses
Specialized Skills/Knowledge
Health care policy and government affairs, financing, and operations,
Project/program management,
State and Federal Government programs (e.g., Medicaid, Medicare), public health policies and environment,
Financial analysis
Confidence in dealing with senior executives, governmental and non-governmental
Strong writing, negotiation, and presentation skills,
Collaboration, customer-focused and able to create value added propositions,
Prefer experience in providing strong customer supportIdeally, the candidate filing this position will be located in Austin, TX.Physical Requirements
