SALARY: $6,374 - $8,183 Monthly

This position provides professional and administrative assistance to the Parks and Recreation Director and serves in planning, organizing, and directing of services and programs for the Stockton Parks and Recreation Department. The incumbent is accountable for ensuring effective program planning, systems, and quality of operations for parks and recreation services and staff, in addition to directing day-to-day parks and recreation operations.

REQUIREMENTS
DEPUTY DIRECTOR OF PARKS AND RECREATION REQUIREMENTS:

Possession of a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in park administration, forestry, recreation administration, natural resources management, or a related field.

Five years of higher management / administrative experience in parks and recreation programs which has included responsibility for organizing, directing, planning, coordinating, budgeting, formulating policy, and evaluating programs and staff.

Certification by the National Recreation and Parks Association (NRPA) as a Certified Parks and Recreation Professional (CPRP) is preferable.
