DATA SECURITY OFFICER

DATA SECURITY OFFICER Nassau County Government Department of Information Technology Will develop, implement and administrate countywide polices, procedures and systems to safeguard the security and privacy of information stored within, and access to, the Nassau County computerized systems and data repositories. Represents Nassau County in interaction with Federal, State & local authorities in issues of technology security. Under general supervision, the duties require an intimate knowledge of network protocols, encryption techniques, firewalls, virtual private networks, database structures, wireless communications and access security techniques. Additional duties include the development, revision, and monitoring of security policies and procedures; development, deployment and monitoring of virus protection and intrusion testing; design and conduct periodic security audits of the computing environment. Qualifications: 4 yr accredited Bachelor degree, 5 yrs experience in the design, management and implementation of data & network security in a corporate or government environment.
