Crossroads Consulting, an IT recruiting firm, seeks qualified candidates for our clients in DC and northern Virginia. We are seeking talented and motivated Software Engineers with experience in Java/J2EE; exposure in XML, CSS, Oracle, and other related concepts is a plus. Ideal candidates will have a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related discipline, hands-on experience developing applications in Java (academic experience is suitable), and a desire to learn and expand an already solid skillset in Java/J2EE.Among our clients is a proprietary software firm in Arlington, VA specializing in Enterprise-level event detection and response applications; another is a Systems Integration firm based in Reston, VA and ranked in Washington Technology’s Fast 50. All of our clients are industry leaders employing exceptional Software Engineers and looking to add smart, talented professionals to their teams. Our clients are also active in supporting DOD/DOJ/IC efforts, so applicants must be US Citizens eligible to obtain a government security clearance.REQUIRED SKILLS:
•A minimum of 3 years of Java/J2EE development experience•Expertise in designing and building distributed n-tier applications, including application analysis, development, testing and debugging.•Expertise in server-side Web presentation technologies such as Java Server Pages, Java Servlets, JSP Custom Tags, STRUTS and XSLT stylesheets•Practice in Java object-oriented design and development. Experience with component models including Enterprise JavaBeans is a plus.•Strong relational database design experience (experience with Oracle a plus), and practice in database programming techniques such as using the Java JDBC API.•Experience with open source Java technologies such as the Apache Foundation projects, JBoss, or the Keel meta-framework are highly desirable.•Experience building & deploying applications using ANT, and unit-testing applications using JUnit or other automated testing tools a plus.•Experience with client side Java development using SWT and/or the Eclipse toolkit a plus.•Prefer experience with agile development or extreme programming.•Dedication to customer service required - experience in service-oriented industries such as consulting, on-site custom development work, etc.•BS degree in CS, MIS, Computer Information Systems, Mathematics, Engineering or a related technical field required.
