INSPECTOR City of Beverly Hills Has the following openings in the Fire Dept (each position reqs a separate applic.): CIVILIAN FIRE INSPECTOR $4686-$5748/mo. Responsible for a wide variety of tech'l work in inspection, analysis and application of fire protection and prevention practices and principles. Req. Assoc. of Arts or Assoc. of Science degree in Fire Science or closely related field; 1 yr of fire inspection exp w/an organized fire dept, building dept or loss prevention organization; knowl of Uniform Fire Code and Uniform Bldg Code; ability to obtain Uniform Fire Code Certif through the Int'l Conference of Bldg Officials within 12 mos. of appt; physical ability to conduct inspections and be exposed to smoke and/or hazardous envir, if req'd. Develops and maints a system for reviewing plans, specs, and permit appls. to ensure compliance w/fire safety codes, regs, and ordinances. Req. Assoc. of Arts or Assoc. of Science degree in Fire Science, Construction Technology, Fire Protection Technology, or closely related field; at least 2 yrs of fire protection plan review and fire inspection exp. with an organized fire dept., bldg dept., or loss prevention org; must be certified as a Fire Plans Examiner and Uniform Code Inspector by the Inter. Code Council, or Inter. Fire Code Institute; must be certified as a Fire Prevention Officer by the CA State Fire Marshal within 1yr from date of employment; valid CA Class C driver's license.
