Situated amongst the largest stand of ponderosa pines in the world, the City of Show Low (elevation 6,500 feet) is the commercial hub of the beautiful White Mountains. The area provides many outdoor recreational opportunities such as hiking, fishing, camping, and skiing.
Show Low, an Arizona Main Street community, is experiencing extensive growth providing a great opportunity for the ideal candidate.
Primary job responsibilities:Review of building construction and site development plans for compliance with federal, state and local ordinances
Provides oversight of the permit issuance processInterprets building code requirements for contractors, homeowners, and other City inspectors
The position is under the direction of the Community Development Director and will manage the day to day activities of the Building and Safety Division. Salary Range: DOE plus generous benefits package.

REQUIREMENTS
Building Official
Qualifications:
Excellent knowledge of building, plumbing, mechanical, and electrical codes.Supervision and performance management.Have excellent written and oral communication skills, and be computer proficient.Minimum requirements are a bachelor’s degree in construction technology, or a closely-related field with five years inspection experience for a public agency and five years construction related experience or comparable combination of education and experience.
