Archivist/Records Analyst I/II

The County of Riverside’s Records Management and Archives Program seeks creative records professionals interested in long-term opportunities to build a governmental records program into an exceptional program. We currently have robust records center operations, and a well-established microfilming division. Our immediate goal is to enhance our current storage and reformatting services to all County departments to ensure the full spectrum of county records are handled most appropriately and cost effectively. Our long range strategic vision is to integrate archives management into the County’s records practices, such as developing records retention schedules with “point-of-creation” appraisal strategies and integrating preservation practices to (paper and electronic) records and files management.The relative salary ranges of these positions are as following:Archives/Records Analyst II$51,124.32 – $66,656.30 Annually
Archives/Records Analyst I$38,820.91 - $50,581.65 AnnuallyAppointments will be made at a level appropriate to the qualifications and experience of successful candidates and offers may be above the entry step of a class for a candidate with more than the required minimum qualifications. REQUIREMENTS
Education Requirements
Certification as Records Manager (C.R.M.) or an Archivist (C.A.)
Archivist/Records Analyst II – Graduation from an accredited university with a Master’s degree in Archives and Records Management, Business or Public Administration, Computer Science, Information Management, Library and Information Science, or a closely related field.
Archivist/Records Analyst I – Graduation from an accredited university with a Master’s degree in Archives and Records Management, Business or Public Administration, Computer Science, Information Management, Library and Information Science, or a closely related field. Candidates in process of earning their C.R.M. and provisionally certified archivists are encouraged to apply to this level; incumbents enrolled in a master’s degree will be considered for the position, a successful candidate will be asked for proof of certification 24 months after starting the position.
ExperienceArchivist/Records Analyst II – Two years of experience as an Archivist/Records Analyst I in Riverside County or 3 years of related experience in archives and records management, equivalent to that of County of Riverside’s Archivist/Records Analyst I.
Archivist/Records Analyst I – Records management, archives, micrographics, preservation, and reformatting principles, theory, methods, and best practices; federal and state requirements affecting record keeping functions; records and information appraisal; records appraisal, scheduling, housing, reformatting and disposal practices; ANSI/AIIM standards for micrographics, reformatting best practices (i.e. quality standards); familiarity with records management applications; archival processing and preservation.
