ASSISTANT HEALTH AND HUMAN SERVICES ADMINISTRATOR

Under the direct supervision of the Health and Human Services Administrator (Administrator), this position provides administrative support for the Coquille Indian Tribe Community Health Center in Coos Bay/North Bend, Oregon. This description will provide the underlying duties and responsibilities as the Assistant Health Administrator of the Community Health Center. This is an exempt position. A pre-employment drug screen and criminal background check are required.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
1.Manage the compliance and monitoring of accreditation standards and Quality Improvement activities to maintain AAAHC and JCAHO standards preferred.
2.Provide Administrative support to the Health and Human Services Administrator.
3.Attend specific meetings designated by the Administrator.
4.Assist Administrator with the development and maintenance of Health and Community Center budgets.
5.Maintain, develop, and implement Health and Community Center policies and procedures as needed.
6.Supervise the Cultural Activities Coordinator, Health Educator, Community Health Representative, MIS Coordinator and Tribal Elders Coordinator.
7.In absence of Health and Human Services Administrator, serve as Acting Health and Human Services Administrator.
8.Serve as the HIPAA Coordinator.
9.Ability to research and prepare federal, state or other grants and contracts as requested by the Administrator is preferred.
10.Serve as liaison to tribal, federal and state agencies as determined by the Administrator.
11.Experience working within a Tribal environment is preferred.kground check are required.
REQUIREMENTS
A.Associate’s Degree in Health related field or Business Administration is required, a Bachelor’s Degree is strongly preferred.
B.Knowledge of Indian Health Service programs is preferred.
C.Basic proficiency in office software preferred.
D.Experience in grant writing, grant management and reporting is strongly preferred..
E.Familiarity with health care environment is desired.
F.Ability to work successfully with a wide variety of people and the ability to communicate effectively and relate to Tribal members is required.
G.Proven ability to work with all age groups.
H.Knowledge of HIPAA privacy and confidentiality guidelines is preferred.
I.Two to four years of supervisory experience is required.
J.Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required.
K.Valid Oregon driver’s license is required.
