ASP.NET Application Developer

Tasks and Responsibilities:

*Review and expand the software system design for ASP.NET 2.0 application developers accessing the enterprise biogeographic databases.
*Utilize Object Oriented design to develop ASP.NET 2.0 custom controls for eight functional subject areas in the BIOSMaster database system. Work closely with existing database architect and application developers of legacy applications to uncover application requirements and functionality on an abstract level and to design an appropriate object model for n-tier enterprise level applications built for an extremely complex distributed database system.
*Work on the framework for multiple large scale applications in a focused team environment.
*Develop a source control utilization strategy that encompasses all development work in ASP.NET 2.0 websites, MS SQL Server 2000-2005 schemas and scripts, ESRI SDE code, and XML scripts and reports.
*Advance strategic IT objectives
*Review and expand Application Development Team's ASP.NET authentication and authorization-handling strategies and frameworks
*Provide in-house ASP.NET 20 technology transfer to team developers who are just migrating to ASP.NET 2.0

REQUIREMENTS


Job Requirements:

*5+ years experience working on enterprise applications in a team environment
*Expert knowledge in custom control design using ASP.NET 2.0
*4+ years experience with ASP.NET
*In depth knowledge of MS SQL Server 2000 database development and administration
*Working knowledge of enterprise hardware and software
*In depth knowledge of the ASP.NET 2.0 page lifecycle
*Expert level skill in C#, VB.NET, ASP.NET and Javascript
*Advanced experience utilizing source control, especially SourceSafe 2005
*Experience creating n-tier enterprise level applications with high transaction volumes
*Excellent communication and problem solving skills
*Experience with systems documentation in enterprise environments
*Willingness and ability to transfer knowledge to development staff
