Materials Manager

Responsible to lead the Site's entire Materials' group with effective strategies and best practices

Principle Accountabilities:

Manage, control and direct the activities of all personnel engaged in Site Tactical Materials support (i.e. Purchasing, Scheduling, Shipping, Receiving and Kitting).

Collaborate with management in the development of, and align the Site Tactical Materials group in support of both site and corporate materials goals.

Develop, implement and manage polices and procedures, as well as material control systems, necessary to ensure adequate controls are in place for the effective execution of purchasing, scheduling and material logistics functions within the Site.

Ensures a high degree of customer satisfaction through the management and direction of Site Tactical Materials group.

Responsible for accurate inventory cycle counts and controls.

Provide for the proper shipping and documentation of finished goods.

Review and approve purchase orders, purchase order changes and purchase order claims as per Purchasing's SOP.

Manage the monthly Site OIX rollup in alignment with Corporate OIX process.

Educate materials teams of their Customer's contract (i.e. DOU, PSA, MSA, etc) requirements, and ensure compliance of Customer's material team to the contracted requirements.

Understand and drive to meet monthly/quarterly site revenue and margin objectives.

Understand Customer P & L's, especially the impact of Parts Contribution, Materials Labor Cost, Inventory Levels, OIX and freight on financial performance.

Attend regularly scheduled Customer Team meeting as required.

Provide customer support to sales group by representing materials in sales presentations.

Ensure compliance and provide appropriate conflict resolution as required to the Corporate Scheduling Process.

Additional duties as assigned.



Education/Experience:

· A minimum of 7 years of similar or related experience is desired.

· A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Business or a related discipline is required.

· APIC Certification in production inventory control management (CPIM) or ISM Certification in procurement management (CPM) is beneficial.



Skills/Knowledge/Abilities:Employee must be self-motivated with the ability to work independently and in a team environment.Excellent oral and written communication skills are necessary.Management/Supervisory skillsProblem solving skillsAssertiveness, prioritizing skills, multi-tasking capabilitiesComputer literacy in MRP, JDE, Word, Excel and PowerPoint, and are essential.Employee must work safely at all times and maintain confidentiality of all company and customer information.
