Industrial Nurse
Job Summary:Provide health care and first-aid for employees. Responsible for OSHA recordkeeping and managing worker's compensation cases. Implement OSHA Compliance Programs, Hearing Conservation, Respiratory, Bloodborne Pathogen and Biohazardous waste. Develops and implement Safety and Wellness Programs.A. Manages the Employee Health and Safety for Pepperidge Farm Bloomfield Plant1.Provides optimal health care for approximately 250 employees
2.Develops and collaborates professional relationships with community resources physicians, hospitals, and laboratories
3.Provides and maintains legal documents- OSHA log, Workers Compensation files, Random DOT drug screens, Random breathalyzer alcohol testing
4.Orders and maintains the appropriate medical supplies, personal protective equipment, biohazardous waste material, drug screen kits and first aid kits
5.Administers pre-employment physicals, drug screens, DOT physical exams, DOT drug screens, alcohol breathalyzer test, respirator physicals, pulmonary function tests
6.Provides weekly/monthly statistics regarding employee injuries, accident, modified duty days and lost time days
7.Develops and implements Wellness Programs, Smoke enders clinics, Mammography, Health Fair, Cholesterol Screening, Blood Pressure Screening, Prostate Screening, CPR, First Aid, Blood Drives
8.Counsels employees on health issuesB. Administers a Proactive Worker's Compensation Program1.Coordinates worker's compensation claims
2.Guides the employee through the system
3.Liaison with the injured employee and the employer
4.Educator of physicians re: Pepperidge farm's return to work policy-modified duty program
5.Daily communication with the insurance carrier discussing all aspects of the case-medical, financial and legal
6.Assists with controlling and reducing workers compensation costs
REQUIREMENTS
Credentials:
Licensed healthcare worker with State of CT
Certified Alcohol Breathalyzer Technician
CPR and First aid Certified
