Industrial Electronic Technician

Hours: 7 a.m.-3:30 p.m. Monday-Friday

General duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: 1) Obtain an Associate of Applied Science Degree in Electronics in accordance with the Energy Measurement Technician Line Of Progression (LOP) Document; 2) complete college courses outside of normal working hours (at an approved college as defined by the LOP document) at a minimum rate of six (6) semester hours per year; 3) evaluate, repair, replace, and calibrate instruments, transducers, metering devices, and test systems that are used in the measurement of both electrical and gas quantities; 4) handle and execute special technical projects; 5) perform a variety of presentations and training functions using good oral and written communication skills; 6) complete reports, memorandums, and other documentation as required; 7) fulfill all responsibilities and tasks as noted in the Energy Measurement Technician LOP document.Job Requirements
The following qualifications are required for the position: 1) Completion of at least 60 college semester hours toward an associate degree in Instrumentation/Industrial Electronics or a closely related field (must be within 12 semester hours of graduation). Other formal related course work, training, or directly related work experience may be considered as a partial substitute for entry level requirements; 2) must provide official college transcript(s) and any supporting documentation to the Staffing Department no later than one (1) week after the closing date of job posting; 3) successfully pass screening tests for position; 4) must be inquisitive, dedicated, self-motivated, & willing to devote time for the continual improvement of both technical and business skills; 5) demonstrated ability to successfully work in groups, as well as independently without close supervision; 6) maintain a positive work attitude that consistently promotes safety, efficiency, & and professionalism; 7) reliable in attendance; 8) good oral & written communication skills; 9) ability to assume leadership roles; 10) ability to distinguish colors in order to properly identify wiring & electronic components; 11) ability and willingness to work in shop, lab, and harsh field environments for extended periods; 12) ability to work safely around hazards such as high voltage, heights, constructions sites, etc.; 13) ability to lift, move, and carry equipment and tools weighing up to fifty-five (55) pounds a distance of fifty (50) feet; 14) ability to travel out-of-town and work overtime when necessary; 15) ability and willingness to work "Call Duty" assignments as frequently as every few weeks for one week periods; and 16) possession of a valid Texas driver's license with a history of a safe driving in accordance with CPS policies.
