Radiall Jerrik has an immediate opening for a Fiber Optics assembler. Individual would prepare fiber optic cable for termination per drawings/specifications and install required connectors/termini to complete assembly of fiber optic patch cords and harnesses. Test assemblies and document test results per manufacturing instructions and test inspection sheets. Be a cooperative and contributing member of the Fiber Optic Team, which includes engineering, quality, planning and manufacturing personnel.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.•Inspect manufacturing kits to ensure all required components and paperwork are available before starting assembly process. Identify any shortages and work with Supervisor and Planners to resolve discrepancies.
•Maintain a clean working area. Work closely with Production Supervisor to ensure tools and equipment are maintained in excellent working condition and production supplies are available when required. Assist in the development of a maintenance program to keep equipment on line and operating.•Learn and become certified on required cutting, stripping, cleaning, polishing, crimping, labeling and testing operations to produce high quality fiber optic assemblies on time.
•Inspects fiber optic end faces and termini utilizing various microscopes or other vision equipment.
•Maintain a high level of efficiency and quality to ensure that production goals that are met with minimal waste of time, effort, or materials.
•Records various data from the assembly process for lot/quality traceability.•Reports production results in an accurate and timely manner, summarizing daily assembly activity including scrap and rework, for evaluation by the department supervisor and other team members.
•Interfaces frequently with the Supervisor and Engineers in identifying and resolving production problems.•Tracks material usage to anticipate shortages and advises the supervisor of shortages in a timely manner to reduce loss of production time.
•Performs any other related tasks as assigned by supervisor to maintain productivity and contribute to overall efficient operations. May be assigned to other production areas from time-to-time due to overall manufacturing requirements.NATURE AND SCOPE:

QUALIFICATIONS
Education and/or Experience
High School diploma or equivalent. Minimum two years fiber optics assembly experience. Prior experience in military/aerospace/defense environments a plus.Language/Assembly/Computer Skills
Ability to read, write, speak and understand English at approximately a 7-8 grade level. Must be able to read, understand and complete a simple assembly test without errors. Good vision, depth perception, color identification and eye-hand coordination with respect to very small parts. Must be able to understand and perform assembly operations utilizing both English and metric measurements of volume, weights and lengths. Need to be able to create and modify excel worksheets and other Microsoft office software programs.****Resumes WILL NOT be considered unless they include salary history.
