We have an immediate opening for an Assistant Utility Operator in our Spokane, Washington location.
Summary: Safely and efficiently performs all assigned duties. Operates and maintains a variety of mobile equipment. Some of the assigned utility duties include driving, sweeping, shoveling, mopping, painting, housekeeping, landscaping, and the minor servicing and repairing of equipment. Completes inspections, checklists, and record keeping as required. Truck driving experience a strong plus.
REQUIREMENTS
Essential Functions:
Able to work 12 hour, rotating shifts both scheduled and unscheduled.
Works overtime and rotating shifts including nights, weekends, and Holidays.
Able to respond to call-ins as required by Plant Management.
Follows standard safety procedures, corrects safety and environmental hazards, and reports them to the Shift Supervisor immediately.
Reads, understands, and accurately applies information such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, Company policies, and procedure manuals.
Maintains records, checklists, and inspections as necessary.
Takes ownership of assigned plant areas and successfully maintains these areas independently regarding housekeeping, trash removal, cleanliness, and material condition.
Operates and maintains mobile ash hauling equipment in a safe and efficient manner including the transporting of ash containers to and from the lay down area.
Ensures ash containers are filled, covered, and transported within the Company’s policies and procedures.
Operates other equipment including, but not limited to, pressure washers, cement mixers, industrial forklifts, man lifts, skid steer type loaders, front-end loaders, street sweepers, and other mobile equipment.
Loads out the unburned material in a safe and efficient manner.
Assists in the recycling of the metals as needed.
Sweeps, shovels, moves ash or other material from within the plant.
Performs daily weigh scale checks and documents the results.
Performs minor repairs to both plant equipment and mobile equipment.
Troubleshoots equipment and assists in diagnosing problems.
Education/Experience:
•High school diploma or general education degree (GED) or equivalent.
•Current Drivers License and Truck driving experience preferred.
•Mobile equipment experience preferred.
•Mechanical knowledge and skills sufficient to perform the routine tasks associated with operating and maintaining power tools, mobile equipment, and minor repairs to plant equipment and structures.
