Sr. Business Continuity / Disaster Recovery Analyst

Core Job Responsibilities include:Disaster Recovery Test Coordination
Organize meetings / planning sessions.
Author test planning and execution documentation.
Lead recovery exercises.Disaster Recovery Plan Coordination
Provide business continuity methodology guidance to contributing technical and business staff.
Gather and compile recovery documentation from multiple functional contributors.
Integrate individual disaster recovery plan documentation into overall Abbott business continuity program.Business Impact Analysis / Recovery Strategy Research
Analyze moderate to complex business scenarios to identify risk to Abbott related to an IT processing disruption.
Research moderate to complex recovery strategies (with Abbott technical staff and recovery vendors) to identify and present viable recovery alternatives to stakeholdersDisaster Event Coordination
Assume prominent coordination / facilitation role in the IT recovery process in the event of an extended outage.Qualifications
A minimum of 5 years experience in business continuity / disaster recovery planning for information systems. A broad understanding of network and multi platform system architectures is required. Tools used include: Word, Excel, Visio, and Lotus Notes.Strong project management skills; ability to technically interact within a complex systems environment; above average presentation, interpersonal and writing skills. Proficiency with MS Office.No relocation assistance available with this position. Abbott welcomes and encourages employee diversity.
Bachelor plus 6-10 years technical experience or Masters plus 4-8 years technical experience, or equivalent experience. Preferred Education: Business Continuity Planner designation.
