Manager, Labor Relations II

Functional Area: Human ResourcesPosition Description: Maintains working partnerships with operational areas, which have organized work groups for the purpose of implementing, maintaining, and administering collective bargaining agreements. Provides prompt and effective support on labor-related issues to management within multiple corporate departments. Manages disputes and negotiates resolutions between union representatives and management. Negotiates new work rules for organized employee groups, as needed. Manages the administration and interpretation of labor agreements for assigned work group. Provides support for grievance handling (up to and including arbitration). Develops and maintains responsible relationships with labor organizations representing assigned work group
REQUIREMENTS
Education: Bachelors DegreeExperience: 5 - 7 YearsPosition Requirements: Undergraduate degree in Human Resources Management, Industrial Relations, or related field or equivalent experience/training
At least 5 years experience in HR, Labor Relations, or operational management of unionized employees; at least 2 years in supervisory/management position
Experience or formal training in early dispute resolution strategy
Previous contract administration and negotiation experience strongly preferred
Graduate degree in Human Resources Management, Industrial Relations, or related field or Human Resources certification preferred
Excellent interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to effectively interact with employees at all levels
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to travel
Ability to quickly respond to change and communicate new directions to client groups
