Business System Technician II

Min Pay Annually: $45,100.00
Min Pay Hourly: $21.68JOB SUMMARY:Installation, maintenance and troubleshooting of Business lines, including CPE & rental equipment such as but not limited to; Centrex, Nortel PBX's, Norstar Key system, Siemens, NEC and Valcom paging equipment. Installation of premise wiring and terminations for Voice/Data applications. The usage of test equipment to perform various installation and maintenance functions. Work with other departments to provide communication solutions. To sell and promote the companies products and features.JOB DUTIES:1. Install, repair and maintain customers business lines, telephone equipment and wiring. This includes but not limited to; cross-connecting jumpers on frame in the Central Office to crossboxes, Dmarks and Business offices. Running and terminating feeder cables, premise wiring, jacks, backboards.2. Installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of various CPE products and network services. Installing and repairing various PBX's, Key Systems, Valcom Paging equipment, LAN wiring and various peripherals.3. Perform routines and diagnostics to ensure uninterrupted service. Determine root cause of network and/or CPE problems and take corrective action based on analysis. Communicate services and technical information to customers, support centers and technical personnel. Work with TAC, vendors and other team members to find solutions to problems.4. Uses and understands tools and test equipment to accomplish tasks: uses test equipment such as multi-meters, LAN scanners, Broadband testers.5. Sell and promote company products and features: Broadband, Digital Televison, Centrex, Key Systems, and PBX's. Meet and/or exceed company objective on sales: presents and conducts self in a professional matter; promotes positive company image to the public.6. Performs other duties as assigned or deemed necessary.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:Have high self motivation; Work well with minimal supervision. Ability to work overtime and to work schedules to meet customer demands. Have time management skills and strong customer service/relation skills. Have a positive mental attitude and ability to handle adversity with minimal impact of performance. Be a team player.EDUCATION: High School Diploma or equivalent.EXPERIENCE:Minimum of 3-4 years working with Nortel, NEC, Siemens PBX and Key Systems.DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:Minimum 3-4 years installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting Nortel 11-61 PBX, BCM systems, CS1000's, Norstar Key Systems and Siemens Systems.CERTIFICATIONS:Minimum of 3 Nortel Certifications on Meridian 1 Options 11-61, Siemens and/or Norstar Key Systems.
