Global Fortune 10 plastics distribution company is seeking a leadership-oriented individual to lead the San Diego branch. The successful candidate will manage and have full responsibility for leading GE Polymershapes employees in the Southern California market driving sales (including both GE and non-GE products) trade margin, and operating margin dollars. In this position, the candidate will be accountable for growing sales and developing marketing strategy in order to grow branch sales. Additionally, the branch manager will have full P&L responsibility for a number of product lines including sheet, film, rod and tube products. This position has the potential for future opportunities within GE.Essential Functions
Lead Branch Sales Growth for both GE/Non-GE products in the San Diego area by working closely with branch personnel as well as Headquarters, Marketing, Supplier and Product Teams
Create and Develop marketing programs in key segments (POP/Display, Aerospace, Building and Construction, etc.) by establishing a Value Proposition for GE Polymershapes through Product and Service Differentiation
Increase Trade Margin Dollars by working with key Strategic Suppliers and the Sourcing and Inventory (S & I) Team through price and inventory management
Improve Operating Margin dollars by working with the Regional Operations and Financial Managers to improve Cash Flow (inventory turns, A/R past dues and disputes)
Develop a targetted list of new accounts/applications providing growth for core and new products with existing and new customer base. (Primary focus on Lexan* Sheet and Film products)
Manage all aspects of the Branch P & L including base costs, headcount and operating expenses
Attract, retain, and develop a high performing work team REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications: Basic Qualifications
BS Degree
Minimum 5 - 10 Years Distribution / P&L experience
Strong leadership skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong commercial background
Must have strong interpersonal / team skillsEligibility Requirements
