Staff Accountant, Sr.

Corinthian Colleges, Inc., a publicly traded corporation (NASDAQ: COCO) has an immediate opening for a highly motivated, results-oriented Senior Staff Accountant for our Campus Support Center located in Santa Ana, CA.

Job Summary: This position is responsible for reviewing, analyzing, and recording Company financial data; applying appropriate accounting principles and auditing standards to ensure the integrity and accuracy of all financial data.
General Duties:
Performs all aspects of the Payroll function
Records monthly transactions (new and existing) in various accounts. Develops a thorough understanding of the accounts (both balance sheet and income statement) in assigned area. Identifies and explains variances between actual and budget. Responds to P & L questions as assigned.
Shares knowledge with staff, gives and responds to feedback effectively. Uses current technology to research and analyze issues as well as look for more efficient ways to complete assigned tasks. Provides information requested by external auditors on an as needed basis. Analyzes financial results and activity, as well as reviews schedules and provides answers to questions relating to audits of the financial statements. Ensures timely communication of issues affecting the team to Accounting's management team. Performs other responsibilities as necessary

REQUIREMENTS



Requires a Bachelor?s degree in Accounting, Business, or related discipline, or the equivalent in education and experience. Requires 4-6 years of directly related experience.
