PROJECT MANAGER

Full Time Career
Full Salary Range: $61,300-$114,200/annually. Salary commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Under the general direction of the Director of AIS, the incumbent shall have responsibility for project management and technology planning for AIS. This involves broad oversight, program and project management, and leadership in the areas of planning, scheduling, coordinating, and tracking and status reporting of functional and technical tasks in support of ongoing operations, functional and technical enhancements, and periodic upgrades. This position also manages the AIS Applications Administration team, which is responsible for maintaining and updating the AIS suite of software, including upgrades, patches, and security.

The AIS Project Manager works closely with the Development Manager, the Database Lead, and other technical and functional staff; this position is also responsible for coordinating with other areas within ITS such as server management, networking and security. In addition, the incumbent will prepare plans and proposals, as needed. Strong communications skills are critical to the success of this position.

AIS is comprised of a suite of enterprise applications that provide services to the greater UCSC campus community. This suite of applications includes Oracle/Peoplesoft Student Administration (SA), Oracle/Peoplesoft Enterprise Portal (MyUCSC), the Narrative Evaluation System (NES), the Graduate Admissions Review Portal (GARP) and the AIS Reporting Environment. In addition, AIS maintains a set of enterprise support applications, which support the development cycle and augment the above enterprise applications.

REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications Include:
BA or BS degree in Computer Information Sciences or equivalent work experience.

Several years' experience in technical project management, including managing large, complex system implementation projects.

Experience using project management software to create detailed technical project plans from tasks, task durations, resources and dependencies.

Experience managing technical personnel (programmer/analysts, DBAs, etc.), providing work plans, tracking status of tasks, determining technical training needs, leveraging a range of technical skills across a technical project team.

Experience performing a wide range of systems analysis tasks and creating written reports based on the results of that analysis.
