Our Health Industries Advisory Practice assists hospitals and health systems with quantitative analysis to support management decision-making around a variety of financial and operational issues. We are seeking a Manager level Hospital Reimbursement Specialist for our Finance & Controls practice, in our Southeast Region. The Finance & Controls group focuses on strategic financial planning, turnaround analysis, prospective financial information, third-party reimbursement, reimbursement recovery, financial assessment for operations improvement, including staffing and non-staffing benchmarking, programmatic financial planning, and support for strategic pricing analysis.
REQUIREMENTS
Education Requirement:
Bachelors degree required, CPA, MHA or MB.A. preferred
5 + years working directly with Medicare cost reportsEssential Requirements:
We seek candidates with a minimum of 8 years of experience in the health care industry. The individual will work with our Healthcare Advisory Partners and Directors and will lead other Managers, Senior Associates and Associates in the Southeast Region.Candidates should posses the following skills:
Finance/Accounting/Audit background preferred, (prefer experience with accounting/consulting firms; intermediary experience or provider experience will be considered) A strong understanding of the Medicare and Medicaid regulations and dealing with Medicare intermediaries Experience in preparing and reviewing Medicare Cost Reports Experience with the assessment and calculation of Medicare and Medicaid Cost Report reserves for financial statement purposes Experience with the calculation of Medicare and Medicaid Accounts Receivable Contractual Reserves Experience with the Medicare Wage Index and the impact the index can have on Metropolitan areas Experience with the Medicare DSH calculation and the regulations surrounding those payments to providers Excellent verbal and business writing skills Internet and research skills Experience in delivering oral and written presentations Ability to drive new business opportunities Prior consulting experience preferred Ability to supervise and motivate others Outstanding Excel and Access skills Excellent project management skills Ability to effectively manage multiple client assignments simultaneouslyThis individual will be performing consulting services primarily out of our Birmingham office and will be subject to travel .
