MANAGER of EXTERNAL REPORTING

Camarillo company seeks a MANAGER OF EXTERNAL REPORTING who will be responsible for external reporting, technical accounting issues and implementation, and special projects, as needed. The Manager will supervise a Senior Accountant and will be involved in the month/quarter end closing responsibilities to ensure compliance with GAAP. The Manager will also be responsible for compliance with Section 404 of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act.

Skills/Responsibilities
Review and draft SEC and other regulatory filings.

Liaison with external auditors.

Accounting research of technical accounting issues including impairment reviews and analysis, revenue recognition, FAS123R etc.

Monitor new accounting standards and create working solutions

Act as the Company lead compliance officer for SOX

Review complex accounting entries such as purchase accounting, derivatives, restructuring etc

Participate in the month/quarter-end closing process including reconciliations, analysis and review

Prepare consolidation of foreign entities

Supervise Senior Accountant, who will provide assistance in reporting, accounting and month/quarter closing.

Strong working knowledge of technical accounting and business matters

Ability to work well within a team structure

Ability to influence, train, mentor and leverage the skills of others to achieve objectives

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision under stressful conditions and coordinate the completion of multiple tasks simultaneously

Strong organizational and analytical skills

Strong skills with Microsoft Office, especially with Excel and Access.

Experience/Performance
Requires 5-8 years total GAAP experience/SEC reporting including relevant experience with a public company. CPA preferred, Big 4 accounting experience desirable. Solid knowledge of documentation, compliance and testing required for Section 404 of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act. Supervisory experience required.

Education
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related field, CPA preferred.
