Commission Accountant (Carve out a brand new position!)

We are looking for a business professional with a strong understanding of accrual-based commission accounting. As the Commission Accountant, you would be involved in extremely detailed work with a heavy focus on calculating, processing and paying internal and external commissions and managing prepaid GL balances. In this highly visible role, the ideal candidate would work regularly with sales associates and strive to improve the overall commission process.




Primary responsibilities include:






Reviewing and analyzing revenue for payment of commissions to Sales and Account Management










Consolidating revenue data files for researching customer payments and recent commissions










Responding to inquiries from brokers and internal staff regarding their commission payments










Preparing monthly commission accrual schedules, including prepaid, liability and expense










Reconciling and resolving revenue discrepancies




Job Requirements:

A Bachelor's degree is required; a Master's degree is a plus. The candidate must have accounting/finance experience. Excellent MS Office applications with Brio, SQL and Cognos knowledge needed.
