Bi-Lingual Client Relationship Associate (English-Spanish)
Our Client Relationship Associates are the front line of our business, and are often the only people at Vanguard our shareholders speak with. That's why bi-lingual skills are particularly desirable: We want to be able to communicate with our Spanish-speaking shareholders in the language that they use most comfortably. We are seeking dedicated professionals with oral and written fluency in English and oral fluency in Spanish who, after undergoing an initial 2-3 month training program, can respond accurately and thoroughly to incoming calls on a wide range of topics, from investment product information to regulatory issues. In short, we're looking for people who can bring much more to the position than just a voice at the other end of the telephone.
Specifically, our bi-lingual associates will respond in fluent Spanish to telephone requests regarding fund and account information, legal requirements, processing procedures, and general investment needs. They are expected to acquire a strong knowledge of Vanguard funds; financial markets; relevant legal, tax, and regulatory issues; asset allocation models; and retirement programs. Additionally, they are expected to have or to quickly acquire their Series 6 and 63 licenses, which prepare them to broadly discuss investment products, variable contracts, securities-related regulations, retirement plans, and a host of other investment-related topics. They elicit shareholder needs with speed and composure, and direct shareholders to other departments when necessary.
Our associates are very client-focused and work well under pressure. They are exceptional listeners and problem-solvers, and possess excellent written and oral communication skills. They are detail-oriented, have strong time-management skills, and grasp complex technical material quickly.
As part of their mission to provide service of unparalleled quality, our associates are expected to keep abreast of daily financial market activity and news that clients may wish to discuss and develop a clear understanding of Vanguard's affiliated services. They attend continuous training programs that enhance their skills, and they participate in special projects and other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor's degree (all majors will be considered) or equivalent work experience.
- Oral and written fluency in English, oral fluency in Spanish required.
- Ability to obtain National Association of Securities Dealers (NASD) Series 6 and 63 licenses.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Proven decision-making skills, along with an ability to quickly comprehend and apply technical knowledge.
- Experience with PCs.
- Experience in client service and/or sales is preferred.
- Knowledge of financial markets and retirement plans is a plus.
